Instructor/Educator teaching resources
Q: How do I access my complimentary instructor tools?
A: You must require a Books of Discovery textbook for your class/program in order to access the complimentary teaching resources. A Books of Discovery employee must grant you access to these resources before you can utilize them. Go to https://booksofdiscovery.com/my-account/instructor-registration/ to request access to the complimentary online teaching resources for the textbook you require.
Once you’ve been given access, go to booksofdiscovery.com/for-instructors/ and scroll down the page to select the textbook you’re requiring for your class. Please make sure you are logged into your account.
Q: I forgot my password to log in. How do I get a new one?
A: Click on “login” and select “Reset your password?”
PowerPoints
Q: How do I make the images from your PowerPoint slides appear?
- Go to the “Home” tab and click on the downward facing arrow within the “New Slide” icon.
- At the bottom of the list, select “Insert Slides from Other Presentation.”
- A new window will appear on the right-hand side. Navigate to thePowerPoint folder on your computer, and select your chapter.
- Click on individual slides to highlight and insert or check the “Insert all” box.
- Be sure to check the “Keep Design of Original Slides” box in the lower left-hand corner so that the images will appear.
Q: My PowerPoint presentation won’t print properly. What can I do?
A: Make sure your printer setting is set for “Color” and not “Grayscale”. Even if your printer is not a color printer the setting needs to be set to “Color” otherwise the images from the slides will not print.
Q: How can I edit and customize the PowerPoint slides?
A: Within most of the slides there is an area that will display “Text”. You may type any text you want in this area, however, you cannot change the text that is attached to the illustration itself. If you find you need more customization please consider the Image Library (if offered as part of your resources) as another option. The Image Library contains jpeg files of the illustration without any text or graphics.
